Right from childhood I wanted to become an engineer, largely influenced by my father who was an engineer and tinkered with appliances around the house. In high school I got interested in electronics and used the holidays to make my first transistor radio which was followed by a deep interest in various electronic gadgets. I was soon making cassette decks, amplifiers, graphic equalizers, speaker systems etc. Hence, becoming an electronic engineer was a natural progression.

I studied Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, after which I joined the Oil Services giant Schlumberger. During an enjoyable 15-year career with Schlumberger, I worked in many different countries. I started as a trainee in Brunei, was a Field Engineer in Malaysia, moved to Assam in India as engineer-in-charge of a base, then moved to Alexandria, Egypt, as a Training Centre Instructor, was then back in Bombay as a Field Service Manager, then moved to Dubai as TQM Coordinator followed by as assignment as Technical Services Manager, then moved on to Houston as District Manager and was finally was posted in Jakarta as Business Manager for Asia. This 15-year period of doing many different jobs across geographies was a great experience from which I learnt a lot about dealing with different cultures in diverse conditions.

In 1998 I decided to return home to become an entrepreneur and connected with Swagelok which turned out to be a perfect fit. We started the operations in South India in 1999 and from a small 2-man set-up we now have 4 offices and a team of 125+ associates.

I have always been passionate about quality and the link with Swagelok has resulted in us being able to supply world class products, backed by top notch local support and service.

In my spare time I read and advise younger folks about investing and have recently become an angel investor. I also love walking and am an enthusiastic golfer.
